Intro

The Craic Mad Mad Assault Course thingy is designed for you (whoever you are?!). It’s got the works: Mud, obstacles and water challenges. All are very achievable and there are opt outs if you don’t fancy taking some of them on. Also, there is a short and longer course so you can go on a longer jaunt if you feel like it. Forget about being good at “Assault Courses” this isn’t a proper one anyway (we had to call it something!!). Make up your own mind by watching the video click here. It’s about having the Craic and challenging yourself at your own speed. No training required except moving and laughing at the same time…

The Craic mad mad Assault course are delighted to partner with the Irish Heart Foundation to help raise funds for Heart disease and Stroke. 20% of your Entry fee will go towards the IHF. The Irish Heart Foundation is the national charity fighting stroke and heart disease, funded up to 90 per cent by public and corporate donations. Enjoy yourself and help the IHF all in one.

Waterstown Park, Palmerstown, Dublin provides a lot of natural obstacles to get your head around and some not so natural ones including: hay bale walls, massive cargo nets to scramble under, tyre tunnels, rope pulls, tight rope river crossings, crossing and running up streams plus scurrying under bridges, and a giant water slide. We aim to ‘muck you up’ on this multi-terrain course and some (most) sections will have you in the fits of laughter while it happens!

The DJ will be in full fethal at a lively finish area. And don’t forget that this is only the warm up for the night out on the town later that evening.

2011 Survey Results:

- 100% said the enjoyed the course.

- 96% Recommend it.

Testimonials:

‘This was the best laugh I ever had sober! I walked most of this and got around the obstacles. Everyone should try this – so much fun’ – Mary M.

‘We came as a group of 5 and the Craic was mighty. One of the lads come top 10 and the rest stayed together and made eejeets out of ourselves. The camaraderie along the course was great’ - Sarah and the girls

Race Info

There are 2 options to get stuck into.

There is a one lap Craic’ers doing 5.6km or for the fitter a 10km Totally Craic’ed double lap.

  • The First wave will be the 10km Totally Craic’ed
  • The Second wave will be 5.6km Craic’ers

Note – The first 10km wave is where the Prizes will be won for Male and Female. We will subdivide groups on the day into those who want to go fast or take their time. Obstacle opt outs are available along the route.

Check out the video to see what’s in store click here

We’d imagine that one lap could take on average 40 mins and two laps 60mins. If in any doubt do the shorter course…

The race will go in waves of 100 people every 5-7mins to avoid bottle necks on obstacles.

There is no nice way to say this but you ARE going to get wet and mucky as you negotiate the course. The more the better we say! Pick your course (5.6km or 10km) and go at your own speed. But bear in mind we will be taking photos of you making an ass of yourself so remember to brush your teeth!

The Course

We have destroyed a civilized 5.6km and/or 10km track and turned it into a work of madness. We asked you what you’d like and we think we got the balance right so everyone can enjoy the Craic! Note: the water can be +1m high in places but you can opt out if you don’t feel comfortable with this.

*Recommended clothing is a long sleeved top to cover your arms and leggings to cover your legs (neither is essential though), runners or boots. Bring a bin liner to throw them into because they will be dirty, wet, heavy and stuck to you. Note: even if you are doing the 2 lap course you only do the Rope Crossing once.
